History of the School
This School follows CSE Syllabus of the Tamil Nadu Government Don Bosco Mat. Hr. Sec. School, Kolathur is one of the prestigious institution of the Madras Mylapore Arch Diocese run by the Chennai Mylai Educational Society.
Rev. Fr. O.K. Mathew (1978-80) the founder of school started with small hut. Later on Rev. Fr. N.A. Joseph (1980-83) became the Correspondent and he purchased the adjacent land to improve the growing school, which had classes upto Std. V. Rev. Fr. Abraham Kottooparampil was the Correspondent and Principal of this school from 1983-1994 for a period of 11 years. During his tenure the school developed into a Matriculation Higher Secondary School. Two new buildings came up with sufficient facilities for lab, library, computers etc. Rev. Fr. Henrick Jose followed Rev. Fr. Abraham Kottooparampil and served the school from 1994-2002 as the Correspondent of the school. To fulfil the continuous request of parents, he put up the Annex building for primary section. From May 12th 2002 to May 2009, Rev. Fr. Mathew Kottooparampil an able administrator and an educationist rendered yeomen service to this school as the Correspondent. His vision and foresight would certainly go a long way towards the wonderful growth of this institution. The “Silver Jubilee Building” and the aesthetic beauty of the School Campus stand as a credit to his hard work and enthusiasm. From May 24th 2009 onwards Rev. Fr. S.X. Amalraj had taken on the mantle of administration and had completed five years of service successfully. He constructed a new block named “Sacred Heart Block” which consists of 3 floors – 7 class rooms, a hall named St. Dominic Savio Hall (a multipurpose hall), renovated the Computer Labs with modern infrastructure and a separate Toilet block was built for Students and Staff. Rev. Fr. A.L. John Britto had taken charge as the Correspondent on 6th June 2014. He was instrumental in purchasing the land adjacent to the school and constructed a new building for the KG section and named it as Pope Francis Block. He takes the credit of bringing the whole school under one campus. Rev. Fr. B.I. Antony Raj is our new correspondent from 2019 onwards. The Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny is the Congregation of International standing and reputation have been serving the school from (1978) its very inception. The Sisters aim at inculcating a sound Christian and human formation, for the total development of the whole person, making the students well integrated person, spiritually, socially, intellectually, morally and culturally well equipped and ready to collaborate with others in building a just society.
